Oil Change
Fresh oil and a new filter, on the schedule your manufacturer recommends, help protect your engine.

Why regular oil changes matter
As oil ages it breaks down chemically and can turn into thick oil sludge. Sludge can block the oil passages so oil never reaches vital parts of the engine. Without lubrication, parts such as pistons, bearings, and camshafts wear out early, and the repairs that follow are costly.
How often to change it
Your vehicle’s manufacturer gives specific mileage and time intervals. Both exist because the oil’s additives and detergents gradually wear out, even if you do not drive much. Use the oil weight the manufacturer recommends so the engine gets proper protection at every temperature. Follow your owner’s manual for the oil type and interval; vehicles that require synthetic oil must use it.
How you drive matters too
Stop-and-go driving around Long Beach, short trips, extreme weather, heavy loads, and towing are all harder on oil. Many modern vehicles have an oil-life monitor that weighs these factors and tells you when it is time for service.
What is included
