Signs your brakes need service
- Squealing: pads or other parts may be worn
- A grinding noise you can feel in the pedal: likely severely worn, so have it repaired right away
- Pulling to one side: a stuck caliper or a collapsed brake hose
- Steering wheel shaking when you brake: front rotors are usually uneven or warped
- A pulsing pedal: rotors are usually uneven or warped
- A spongy pedal or one that sinks to the floor: air in the lines or a master cylinder problem
- Longer stopping distance: brakes need adjusting or new linings
Services we provide
We replace rotors, pads, and brake fluid and diagnose the rest of the braking system. A car that cannot stop is a serious problem, so if your brakes feel wrong, have them looked at soon at whichever of our shops is closest.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my car pull when I brake?
A stuck caliper or a collapsed brake hose are common causes. It is worth having it checked.
What does a spongy pedal mean?
Air in the brake lines is the usual cause. A pedal that goes all the way down may point to a master cylinder problem and should be fixed right away.
Do brakes need manual adjusting?
Most vehicles self-adjust. If a part of the self-adjusting system sticks or breaks, brakes can wear faster.
