Why alignment matters
When a vehicle is out of alignment it pulls to one side, and you end up steering it back straight all the time. A steering wheel that sits crooked when you drive straight is another sign. Tires wear unevenly and faster, and a long drive can get tiring.
You usually will not notice right away. The tires tell the story first.
What knocks a car out of alignment
A hard hit on a pothole or curb can do it, but it does not take a big shock. The regular bumps of daily driving add up over time. That is why your owner’s manual, or a service advisor, may suggest checking alignment periodically.
What we do during an alignment
We measure each wheel against factory specifications. While the vehicle is on the alignment rack, we also look over the tires for wear and the suspension and steering parts for damage, since worn parts can cause alignment problems.
On vehicles where all four wheels can be adjusted, we align all four. Where only the front wheels adjust, we set the front relative to the rear.
